Y Pod is a Welsh language podcast service promoting and supporting Welsh language podcasters.
The project was created and developed by bloc.wales director Aled Jones.
Y Pod is a positive solution to highlight the number of podcasts that are created through the medium of Welsh.
Y Pod has seen an increase in the number of Welsh language podcasts from 38, since its development in April 2018, to 72 podcasts at the end 2019.
The audience numbers for supported podcasts has increased since the project was developed with a core audience age range of 18-34 (37%) and predominantly female (56%).
The project was dynamically designed and created with the mobile user in mind as over 70% of users listen to podcasts on their mobile device.
bloc.wales manages to the Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram accounts for Y Pod.
Y Pod continues to develop editorially and technically and has co-worked with the British Podcast Awards to launch a Welsh Language Category for the first time in 2020.
Further developments include Voice interaction through the medium of Welsh using Amazon Alexa.
